Fly Fishing in Boca Paila Mexico
Boca Paila is located on the
Carribean sea about 81 miles south of Cancun, Mexico. Fly Fishing in Boca Paila
is best known for superb Bonefishing and unparalleled Permit population, but
theres a bonus: Tarpon, Snook, Barracuda, Jack Crevalle and Cubera
Snapper. Boca Paila Bonefish average just under 3 pounds, although fish in the
4 to 6 lb. are occasionally taken by fly fishing.
Boca Paila is located at the far north end of Ascension Bay.
Unlike Ascension Bay, the majority of fly fishing is done from a panga polled
by your english speaking guide. You will be fishing in rich, clear water that
borders the mangrove thick shoreline. It is the favorite home for Snook, Tarpon
and Permit. Bonefish can be spotted on the flats that adjoin the mangroves.
Because you are fly fishing from a panga, you will have the opportunity to sit,
relax and take in the abundant Pink Flamingo population that inhabits Boca
Paila. The fishing is easy, peaceful and rewarding.
There are numerous nice hotels in the Boca Paila vicinity.
Power to the hotels is supplied by a local generator that runs 24 hours a day.
Many of the hotels offer beachfront accommodations with outstanding
restaurants. There are always Europeans visiting the area and nightly
conversations can be very entertaining. Boca Paila is a great place to relax
after a day of fly fishng.
We offer full day fly fishing adventures starting at $325.00
USD for 2 people. Please email or call me
(713-529-8078) for more information. I will be happy to answer your questions
and arrange your next fly fishing adventure.

Tom; I had a terrific time out on the flats
with Alfredo. This was my first time saltwater fly fishing and it took me
awhile to get used to the technique vis-à-vis freshwater fishing (as
most of the fly fishing I have done has been for trout). I lost a couple of
fish at the beginning because I'm not used to using my reel, and I'm used to
setting a hook as with trout (different technique for bonefish). I ended up
landing 3 bonefish and It was the highlight of my trip. This was the first time
that a fish has ever run with my line and I went into the backing! Tuza was
great driving to and from the boat - very polite and accommodating. Alfredo was
fantastic - his exceptional knowledge of the water was evident. I've attached
some photos from that day - please feel free to post on the web site and please
share them with Alfredo. I would highly recommend your guides! SL John
